I watched Hit So Hard on the bus this evening, while an elderly Polish woman rested her head on my shoulder. It was great! I wouldn’t necessarily characterise myself as a grunge fan, but I have always held an almost morbid fascination with all the players in that scene and this documentary is a really interesting and engaging look at Patty Schemel. I was heretofore relatively unfamiliar with Schemel’s story and only vaguely knew of her contributions to Hole, but I have gained so much respect and admiration for her in light of watching this documentary. Also, I could listen to Courtney Love relay anecdotes all day long.

Anyway, if you have not seen this film, I highly recommend you do so. And after you watch it, listen to Rock Star on repeat like me, Amy O’Connor.
