HBO greenlights pilot from Judd Apatow/Lena Dunham | Deadline

Deadline reports that HBO has greenlit a pilot written by 24 year old up-and-comer Lena Dunham that will be exec produced by Judd Apatow and former Undeclared writer Jenni Konner. The pilot chronicles the assorted humiliations of a group of women in their early twenties. Dunham will also direct and star in the pilot. Dunham is the star, writer and director of the South By Southwest winning feature Tiny Furniture. She also has another feature under her belt, 2009’s Creative Nonfiction.

“Lena has a unique, truthful comic voice,” Apatow said.  ”I am excited to work with her and learn from her.”

If the project is picked up to series, it will be Apatow’s first primetime TV show since Undeclared. HBO already has a packed roster of pilots, with the Apatow/Dunham effort joining Luck (already picked up to series), Tilda, Miraculous Year and All Signs of Death.
