Last night, I attended a talk by music photographer Gered Mankowitz. Although he is most renowned for his photographs of Jimi Hendrix, Mankowitz has also photographed the likes of Marianne Faithful, The Rolling Stones, The Small Faces, The Yardbirds, Slade, Eurythmics and more. Anyway, he was great! He was engaging, entertaining and a complete and utter gentleman. Afterwards, people thanked him profusely for giving the talk. He then turned to me and said, “Thank you.” I think it was his way of giving me a cue to thank him, but because I am a master of human interaction, I did not pick up on that. Instead I replied, “You’re welcome.”

Evidently, there’s no off button on the sass switch.
