Just to qualify my comment re - Rooney Mara for...
I thought that Mara was terrific with the five minutes of screentime that she had, but it’s a little much for Sony to launch a campaign for her in a category that counts Barbara Hershey, Melissa Leo, Amy Adams Mila Kunis, Helena Bonham Carter, Dianne Wiest, Jacki Weaver and Miranda Richardson - all of whom have far more substantial roles in their respective films- among its contenders. I...

So, today I had to venture out into the snow and get a bus back to college. I opted not to go yesterday, because the prospect of dragging my suitcase through the snow was as appealing to me as the prospect of eating fistfuls of prunes. (Sorry, prune lovers.) Then, of course, the weather deteriorated today so it was worse than it would have otherwise been. Good life decisions, Amy!
It’s dead...

joehumphrey replied to your post:I will never understand the fandom surrounding The Dark Knight or assertions that it should have been nominated for Best Picture.
I’ll never understand people who go out of their way to voice their unpopular opinion just to illicit a response without actually contributing anything to the conversation. Especially when they do it two years too late.
Firstly,...
Rumor: James Franco & Anne Hathaway To Host Oscars... →
popculturebrain:
That’s one way to mix it up. The only problem (besides that there’s two of them) is the nominations question. Could lead to an awkward situation. I’m already having flashbacks to NPH hosting the Emmys and his jesting with Jon Cryer.
I’m all for Hathaway - she’s a song-and-dance lady and killed her bit when Jackman hosted. Franco? I’m unsure if he’s...
WTF with Marc Maron Podcast →
azizisbored:
Marc Maron was kind enough to have me on his excellent podcast. You can download the interview by clicking the link above. If you like comedy/comedians, I highly recommend Marc’s podcast in general. I loved both the Louis CK episodes I recently listened to and have heard great things about many other episodes.

Glee cover Dog Days Are Over | NY Post →
Preparing for an avalanche of “HOW DARE THEY COVER FLORENCE + THE MACHINE”. For the record, I’m sick of that song, but their version isn’t half-bad. About halfway through, it gets kind of awesome, because the song kind of lends itself well to a choral arrangement.
Anyway, listen for yourselves.

Hollywood Hotel's Very SNL Greeting | NY Times →
How many businesses can boast that their holiday video greeting card was made by a “Saturday Night Live” threesome?
In September, the boutique Sunset Tower Hotel, an entertainment industry hangout in West Hollywood, Calif., already had holiday card plans on its mind to send to its list of 5,000 customers. Trying to come up with something unique, the hotel’s owner, Jeff Klein, decided to ask...

I believe the reason is the film completely changed the way people view comic book films. In that way it was groundbreaking, therefore it got the nomination.
Well, the film didn’t actually get the nomination - people just...

Follow my Awards Season Tumblr! →
For all things pertaining to awards season and the major contenders.
Anonymous asked: What do you think of the critical reception for Love and Other Drugs? Entertainment Weekly gave it a C, and it hasn't been getting much better reviews anywhere else. I thought Gyllenhaal and Hathaway (and the film itself) were supposed to get Oscar nods for it.

Follow my Awards Season Tumblr →
It’s looking a little sparse at the moment, but rest assured that once it’s off the ground and running, it’ll be a lot more eye-catching.
Please follow if that kind of thing is your bag!
Thinking of starting a Tumblr dedicated to awards...
So I can keep this Tumblr (mostly) dedicated to Saturday Night Live and other comedic pursuits. Because, as awards season prepares to gear up, my coverage of all things Oscar will too and I don’t want to pollute this page with award stuff. Also, I’m obsessed with predictions and such, so there’ll be a lot of that.
What do you guys think?
